10U Softball Coaching Philosophy
At the 10U level, our coaching philosophy is centered around developing the whole player—on and off the field. We believe this stage of the game is about much more than wins and losses; it’s about building a strong foundation for success in softball and in life.
We focus on:
- Player Development: Teaching the fundamentals of the game in a positive, supportive environment. Every player will grow in skill, confidence, and understanding of the game—no matter their starting point.
- Teamwork: We emphasize that softball is a team sport. Players learn to support one another, communicate effectively, and value each teammate’s role.
- Character Building: Through softball, we teach lessons in leadership, responsibility, effort, and respect. These are the building blocks that shape strong athletes and even stronger young women.
- Competing with Purpose: We encourage healthy competition and striving for excellence, always with integrity and sportsmanship.
Our goal is to create a fun, challenging, and inclusive environment where players love the game, support one another, and grow both as athletes and as young ladies with confidence and character.
Meet Our Coaches
Head Coach Wally Okpych
Coach Wally brings over five years of coaching experience at both the recreational and travel levels, having coached with LGLLS and Loudoun South Little League (LSLL). He recently completed his first season coaching travel softball with Loudoun Inferno, where he continues to focus on player growth and team development.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Wally proudly serves on the Board of Directors for LSLL as the Director of Softball Operations, where he plays a key role in guiding the league's vision and supporting the continued growth of the softball program.
As a former catcher, Wally played competitively through high school and went on to play two seasons of club baseball in college. His experience behind the plate has shaped his coaching style—one that emphasizes both the physical and mental fundamentals of the game. He is passionate about developing well-rounded athletes who understand the game, play it the right way, and carry themselves with confidence and character both on and off the field.
Assistant Jeff Cameron
Coach Jeff returns to the Inferno 10U team after contributing as an assistant coach during the second half of the 2024–2025 season. His return brings continuity, energy, and a strong commitment to the development of our young athletes.
Jeff is deeply passionate about player development, with a focus on helping athletes build strong fundamentals, gain confidence, and grow their understanding of the game. He values team culture and chemistry, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication, and mutual support on and off the field.
With a coaching style that blends structure with enthusiasm, Coach Jeff is dedicated to creating a positive, fun, and competitive environment where players are encouraged to challenge themselves and enjoy the process of learning and improving.
We’re excited to have Coach Jeff back on the field as part of the Inferno 10U coaching staff.
Assistant Bobby Frazitta
Coach Bobby brings a diverse and well-rounded athletic background to the Inferno 10U program. A former NCAA Division III college basketball player and high school basketball coach, Bobby has spent the past decade coaching both recreational and travel-level softball and basketball throughout Fairfax and Loudoun County.
His coaching philosophy is rooted in developing young athletes through fundamentals, effort, and a love for competition. With years of multi-sport coaching experience, Bobby brings valuable perspective on athletic development and team dynamics.
Sports and coaching run deep in his family. His stepson, Austin, was an all-region baseball player at John Champe High School and went on to play Division II baseball at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Bobby’s daughters, Ella and Cici, are both proud members of the Inferno softball program, which further fuels his passion and commitment to the team's success.
Coach Bobby is excited to support our players as they grow their skills, build confidence, and most importantly—have fun playing the game they love.
