Character development is core to what we do. Here is how our players put values into action in the Loudoun community and beyond.
At Inferno, we want to help our girls develop as players and, more importantly, as individuals. Our Board and coaching staffs believe in developing character through hard work, respect for others, commitment, and teamwork. The work happens on the field. The character shows up off it.
Over the years, Inferno players across age groups have taken on the following service projects:
Inferno players have taught softball skills to Special Olympics athletes, sharing the game they love with athletes who experience it differently. The clinics are equal parts skill-building and joy-building, on both sides of the ball.
Our players have greeted and honored veterans arriving back through Reagan National and Dulles as part of Honor Flight programs that bring veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built for them. The girls hold flags, cheer, and shake hands with veterans who served in conflicts long before they were born.
Each December, Inferno players take part in Wreaths Across America, placing remembrance wreaths on the graves of veterans at local cemeteries. It's quiet, cold, and meaningful. The day gives our girls a chance to honor service in a tangible way and learn that sportsmanship and citizenship live in the same place.
Inferno players have partnered directly with Step Sisters to assemble individual chemo care kits for women going through cancer treatment in the Loudoun area. The work is hands-on. The girls don't just donate items, they sit and pack each kit themselves, adding hand-written notes and small reminders that someone is thinking of them.
We're actively building out our community service calendar for the 2026-2027 season. If you or your daughter's team have ideas for service projects, partner organizations to connect with, or causes you care about, email secretary@loudouninferno.org.
